2025S-Seminar Summary / 2025Sゼミまとめ

D1 1名、M2 2名、M1 7名、B4 3名＋浦田先生で、春セメスター期間中のゼミを完走しました！

春ゼミは、(1)理論ゼミ-離散選択モデル-、(2)理論ゼミ-機械学習-、(3)理論ゼミ-ネットワーク配分-の基礎理論を学ぶパートに加え、論文ゼミとして、行動モデル、バスネットワークデザインやEV関連などの自身の研究に関連する研究論文を読み、その内容を発表しました。新しく学ぶことも多かったですが、発表したり・聞いたりする中で、少しずつ理解を深めることができました。

One D1 student, two M2 students, seven M1 students, three B4 students and Prof. Urata completed the seminars during the spring semester. The spring seminar consisted of (1) a theory seminar on discrete choice models, (2) a theory seminar on machine learning, and (3) a theory seminar on network allocation. There were many new things to learn. There were many new things I learned, but I was able to deepen my understanding little by little as I presented and listened to the papers.

今年度から新しく加入したM1の3人からの春ゼミ完走してのコメントです：

上山 (Kamiyama)：
今学期のゼミでは、研究を始めるにあたって必要となる基礎の部分を自分や仲間の発表を通して学びました。自分の発表では、リスク下での意思決定に関する古典的な論文と修士で取り組むDemand Responseについての既往研究をまとめた論文について発表しました。数式的な部分に苦手意識があり、はじめは提示された式が表すものについて理解することができませんでしたが、ゼミの回数を重ねる毎にだんだんと式の意味を追えるようになってきていて、この点では成長を感じます。今はまだその内容について議論をするところまでは届いていないのですが、はやく仲間たちに追いついていきたいです。今学期は様々な面で周囲について行くことで精一杯だった部分がありましたが、秋以降のゼミでは自分も議論に参加して貢献していけるように、しっかりと準備をしていきます。
In this semester’s seminar, I learned through my own and fellow students’ presentations about the fundamentals needed to begin research. In my presentation, I presented a classic paper on decision making under risk and a paper summarizing previous research on Demand Response, which I am working on for my master’s degree. I was not good at the mathematical part and could not understand what the presented equations represented at first, but as the number of seminars increased, I gradually became able to follow the meaning of the equations, and I feel that I have grown in this respect. I have not yet reached the point where I can discuss the contents of the equation, but I hope to catch up with my fellow students soon. This semester, I have had my hands full trying to keep up with those around me in various aspects, but I will prepare myself well so that I can participate in and contribute to the discussions in the seminar from the fall onward.

柴田 (Shibata)：
春ゼミでは、坂・山本ら（2018）の「携帯電話の位置情報集計データを用いた目的別時間帯別OD交通量の推定」と、自分の研究である、メタ分析を用いた災害時に避難するかしないかの避難開始行動選択モデルの評価についてまとめ、発表しました。研究室メンバーに向けて発表するゼミはこれまでやったことがなく、始めはどのようにまとめればいいかが分からない状態でしたが、他の人の発表やスライドを参考にした結果、学部時代の卒業研究最終発表よりかはまとまったスライドで発表できたと思います。しかし、まだまだ他のメンバーより分かりづらいスライド・発表になってしまっているので、今後はより自分の研究や類似研究への理解を深めて、それを他の人にも伝わるようにスライドを作成し、理解されるような発表を行えるように頑張っていきます。
In the spring seminar, I summarized and presented “Estimation of OD Traffic Volume by Time of Day by Purpose Using Aggregated Cell Phone Location Data” by Saka and Yamamoto et al. (2018) and my research on the evaluation of an evacuation initiation behavior choice model for whether to evacuate or not during a disaster using meta-analysis. I had never given a presentation to the members of my laboratory before, and at first I did not know how to summarize the results. However, my slides and presentation were still more difficult to understand than those of the other members. In the future, I will work harder to deepen my understanding of my own research and similar research, create slides to convey this understanding to others, and make my presentation understandable.

春学期のゼミでは、基礎的な知識の習得を目指しました。私の発表では、異常検知とバスネットワーク設計を取り上げました。前者については、性能評価指標やモデル選択手法を扱い、後者については、運行者と利用者の双方を考慮した、Ceder & Wilson（1986）による実践的な最適化手法を紹介しました。当初は、他の人の発表が非常に高度に感じられ、自分が何を理解できていないのかさえ分からない状態でした。しかし、文献を読み、自分の発表を準備するうちに、次第に各トピックへの理解が深まってきたように感じています。今後も、未知の分野にも好奇心と粘り強さを持って向き合いながら、自分の研究を着実に進めていきます。
In the spring semester seminar, I aimed to build a foundation of essential knowledge. In my presentations, I focused on anomaly detection and bus network design. For anomaly detection, I covered performance evaluation metrics and model selection methods. Regarding bus network design, I introduced the practical optimization approach proposed by Ceder & Wilson (1986), which takes into account both operator and passenger costs.
At first, I found others’ presentations quite advanced, and I couldn’t even clearly identify what I didn’t understand. However, by reading the literature and preparing my own presentations, I gradually felt that I was gaining a better grasp of the topics. Moving forward, I hope to steadily advance my research while continuing to face unfamiliar areas with curiosity and persistence.
